The funeral of Katrina Wheelans, who was found dead at her home in Warminster, will be held later this month, after an appeal for family members to come forward proved successful.
Miss Wheelans, who lived alone on Prestbury Drive, died on December 5, aged 76, leading police to put out an appeal for relatives to get in touch.
Following the publication of the appeal in the Wiltshire Times last week, family members came forward. Miss Wheelans’ funeral will now take place at West Wiltshire Crematorium, Semington, on January 27 at 1pm.
The Rev Peter Hunter, vicar of Christ Church, Warminster, who will be leading the service, said: “It is good that family have come forward and not left it to the council to sort out the funeral arrangements.
“She helped in various community things such as at Christ Church, so she got to know a lot of people by doing things like that. I think a good number of people will come along.
“She often went into Waitrose and people knew her there so folk from there should be coming to the funeral as well.”
It was believed Miss Wheelans may have had family living in Sydney or Melbourne as she often received mail from Australia.
