ONE pupil at Kingdown School in Warminster had reason to be happier than most after she achieved 12 A*s in her GCSE results.

Eleanor Osborne collected her amazing set of results earlier today as the school, located on Woodcock Road, saw 64.4 per cent of its students achieve at least five A*-C, including English and Maths.

The 16-year-old, who is going on to study Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Biology at A level, said: “I wasn’t expecting to get 12 A*s, I’m really pleased with the results. I think my parents are going to be really happy as well.”

Ehlana Godfrey, also 16 and a friend of Eleanor’s, who got A* in Maths, French and Geography, said: “I’m really happy with the results and looking forward to studying A levels and being in the same classes as Eleanor.”

Other notable results included eight A*s and two As for Annabel Ilic, seven A*s and two As for Jasmine Ayrton and nine A*s, two As and a B for Sampson Tam, who also took his A level Maths a year early.

Sara Edwards, headteacher, said: “They’re just a wonderful set of results that we’re so proud of.

"They are an improvement on last year and we’re just delighted.

“As a school, we are very proud of each and every one of our students and wish them all well as they embark on their next stage of education or training.

“Eleanor’s results were stunning. The thing about Eleanor is she works incredibly hard academically but she does so much for the school as well and is just a great all-round student.”
