SEVERAL hundred pounds worth of cannabis was discovered at a house in Warminster this morning by police.
Officers discovered the drug farm in a flat on Romney Close after receiving a tip-off from British Gas who had forced entry into the property.
More than 20 plants, lighting equipment, a pop-up tent, ventilation system and power pack were seized in the raid.
PC Xanthe Knowles said: “We received a call from British Gas this morning at 9.30am after they had forced entry and went into the flat because they needed to change a gas metre.
“We then attended and discovered the equipment and plants in the front bedroom of the property.
“There was a substantial amount of cannabis seized, probably about £300, and I would suggest the farm had been operating for some time because of the amount of rubbish there.
“No one was in the flat at the time and our enquiries are still ongoing.”
The cannabis will be tested before being destroyed.
