AROUND 300 walkers took on the Stourhead Pink Ribbonwalk to support women with breast cancer on Saturday (June 11).

Walkers completed five, 10 or 20 miles around the private gardens and lake to raise money for the charity Breast Cancer Care.

Claire Pulford, head of events at Breast Cancer Care, said: “This year, approximately 400 people living in Wiltshire will receive the devastating news that they have breast cancer, but with the help of all the wonderful walkers that took part at Stourhead today we can continue to offer vital care, support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer.

“It’s been our second Pink Ribbonwalk at Stourhead and it’s great to catch up with so many familiar faces and welcome the new walkers who joined us today. We are so grateful to everyone that took part; it really was an incredible day.”

The organisers are aiming to raise £95,000 from the event to support people affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Care is a charity which helps the thousands of people who wake up to the reality of breast cancer every day. All funds raised from the Pink Ribbonwalks enable Breast Cancer Care to provide specialist nurses, local face to face services and a vital online support network to anyone affected by breast cancer.
