IDENTIFICATION of the man who died following the use of a Taser in Warminster on Thursday (October 27) will not be released by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) until later this week.
Police officers were called to a house in Warminster late on Wednesday night after they had reports of a man who had harmed himself and was threatening to harm others around him.
After a knife was recovered from the scene, Taser was deployed in an interaction with the man and he was restrained.
The man then became unresponsive and officers performed CPR.
An ambulance was called but the 44-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene at around 12.30am on Thursday.
Following the incident, the IPCC launched an investigation.
Formal identification is expected to be released by the IPCC within the next few days.
