THE man who died after being shot with a Taser has been named formally identified by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) as Terrence Bennett.
Police officers were called to a house in Hillwood Close, Warminster late on Wednesday night (October 26) after they received reports of a man who had seriously harmed himself and was threatening to harm others around him.
After officers arrived at the scene, a knife was recovered and Taser was then deployed in an interaction with Mr Bennett.
The man became unresponsive and officers performed CPR.
An ambulance was then called but the 44-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene at around 12.30am on Thursday.
It is believed Mr Bennett was from the Manchester area and was visiting his parents at their Warminster home, although this is unconfirmed.
