CHILDREN across the Warminster area are being invited to make a festive crown to present to Santa in his grotto as part of a garden centre’s festive activities.

Father Christmas will be visiting Lakeside Garden Centre in Crockerton on Saturday and Sunday December 10 and 11 and the following weekend on Saturday and Sunday December 17 and 18 from midday to 4pm.

His visits are part of the celebrations in the run-up to Christmas by the staff at the garden centre.

Steve Cripps, centre manager, said: “We love seeing so many families come along to the centre over this festive period.

“This year we’ve decided to do something extra special by inviting children from local schools and homes to make a crown for Santa and come along to give it to him in person.

“We’re calling it our Crowning Glory campaign for Christmas.”

On each day of Santa’s visits, three of the children’s crowns will be chosen by Santa and those children will receive an early Christmas present.

Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh prizes will be handed out to three lucky winners on each day of the four days at around 3pm.

To visit Santa will cost £5 per child.
