POLICE have released a picture of two men who they would like to speak to following a report of an aggressive dog in Warminster.

A group of adults and children were walking near Heaven's Gate when a seven-year-old boy was approached by a black labrador which was not on a lead.

The dog started barking and jumped up at the boy and grabbed his coat in it's mouth.

The owners then appeared and called the dog away, but it then turned back and knocked the boy over.

The boy was not seriously injured, but was shaken and suffered a scratch to his leg.

The incident happened on February 6 at 11.15am.

PCSO Candida Jackson, from Wiltshire West Community Policing Team, said: "This was a frightening incident for the little boy and the people he was with.

"Luckily he was not seriously hurt, but it is worrying that this dog seemed so aggressive towards the children, and the owners did not seem concerned or apologetic.

"This is an area popular with dog walkers so we are hoping someone will recognise the two men in the picture, or perhaps the owners themselves will come forward to talk to police."

The two men are described as white, in their 30s or 40s, and one was wearing a pink coat and the other was wearing a multi-coloured coat, green trousers and wellies.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO Jackson on 101. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
