HUNDREDS of people lined the streets of Westbury at the weekend for the town’s Remembrance Parade and Service, in honour of the men and women who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars.
Starting in Market Place at 10.25am the parade, which was led by the Trowbridge Youth Marching Band, passed along West End, Haynes Road, and High Street before finishing at the War Memorial on Edward Street.
The service, which was taken by Reverend Sue Miles of All?Saints Church, began at 10.30am before 37 wreaths were laid by organisations and groups from the town at 11am, including brownie and scout groups, St John’s Ambulance, town council and many more.
Westbury Mayor, David Bradshaw, said: “It’s always very touching and we get so many people each year, both young and old.
“It’s very well supported and the people of the town are very passionate about the event.”
