CHRISTMAS came early for shoppers visiting Aldi in Westbury on Saturday as the store held a festive-themed day, which included a visit from Santa Claus and his reindeer.

Running From 8am-10pm at the shop in Warminster Road, customers were treated to samples of festive products, the chance to meet Santa and feed and pet a reindeer and her six-month-old calf.

Area manager at Aldi, Tom Bend, said: “Everyone had a really good time, there were loads of kids and they really enjoyed the reindeer.

“We plan to do the same thing next year except maybe closer to Christmas.

“The weather was quite bad but people braved the cold and it got everyone in the festive mood.

“It was the first time this year that I have seen Christmas decorations and people getting in the festive spirit.

“There was also an increase in people attending the store of about ten per cent over the previous weekend.”
