DILTON Marsh was taken over by Disney characters at the weekend as the village played host to its fourth annual scarecrow trail.
Organised by Friend of Dilton Marsh Primary School, the event saw 36 scarecrows dressed up as various Disney characters dotted around the village, all designed by pupils and parents from the school as well as residents.
Teams scoured the village with clue sheets and attempted to identify the scarecrows, with prizes going to teams which managed to name them all and to the person whose scarecrow was best designed.
All money raised from the event will go towards funding the school’s new wooden play trail.
Organiser Pauline Frogatt said: “It went really well and the village was very busy over the weekend which is what we like to see.
“There were some really well designed scarecrows and we’re looking forward to choosing a winner, which we will do when the school returns after half term.
“We haven’t counted the money yet but we’re hoping it was a similar amount to previous years so we can make the school’s play trail as good as possible.
“This event is so great as it brings the community together and encourages community cohesion.
“It was a shame about the rain on Monday but people still managed to get outside and it was only a slight dampener on the overall weekend.”
Scarecrow trail sheets were purchased for £3 before the event from Dilton Marsh Primary School, Crowning Glory hairdressers, Fairfield Farm Café and Holy Trinity Church.
