A Westbury man is preparing to take part in a 10 mile fundraising challenge while dressed in a rather recognisable costume.

Martin Pearce, also known as Shoeperman, will be running the Simplyhealth Great South Run in Portsmouth to raise money for the Children’s Hospice South West as part of several charity events this year, all whilst dressed as a shoe.

Mr Pearce said: “With my fiftieth birthday approaching, I wanted to do a set of challenges through out the year to raise awareness as well as funds for the charity whilst also ticking a few items off my personal challenge list.

“We held a competition with the Children’s Hospice South West for the children to design my shoe, we had a great response and I chose the winning design and Shoeperman was born.”
