A WOMAN suffered neck and leg injuries after being involved in a three-way car crash near Dilton Marsh.

Shortly after 5pm on Friday, a Toyota Yaris, a Toyota Hilux and a van collided along the A36 near Frome market.

Two fire crews from Trowbridge and a crew from Frome cut the roof off of one of the cars, using hydraulic cutting equipment, to free the woman, who was then driven to Salisbury District Hospital.

Both crews returned to their stations by 7.20pm and the scene was handed over the Avon and Somerset Police who dealt with the road closure, which was between the A36 roundabout and the B3099.

Lengthy tailbacks formed around the area but the traffic, which delayed for a couple of hours, was moving freely again at around 9.30pm when the police left the scene after making the area safe.

An air ambulance also went to the scene but it was not needed.
