Optician Haine & Smith has raised more than £1,720 for its charity of the year, Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

The money was raised donations to collecting tins displayed in the firm’s Wiltshire practices.

Rebecca de la Bedoyere, fundraising manager for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, said: “Both the organisation and its customers have really got behind the fundraising drive and raised a fantastic amount.

“This will make a real difference as we receive no state funding and can only continue flying and saving lives because the people of Wiltshire make it possible.

"We’re so grateful to all the staff and customers of Haine & Smith for their efforts.”

The firm’s charity for 2014/15 is SWIFT Medics.
