THE poor weather is set to continue today, with temperatures and rain set to fall across Swindon and the rest of Wiltshire.

Met Office forecasters are warning of some thundery rain today, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 16C, with some bright spells reaching the area this afternoon.

"A very wet start to the day with outbreaks of thundery rain," the forecaster said.

"During the day the rain should clear slowly brining some late afternoon brightness. Feeling relatively cool with a keen northwesterly breeze."

Clear spells overnight would see temperatures fall to around 8C, he said.

"This evening cloud will break up leaving clear spells overnight," he added.

"By dawn cloud will once again thicken heralding the arrival of the next band of rain from the south west."

MEANWHILE, on the roads, the A419 in Swindon is reported as being 'busy but moving', with no major delays reported elsewhere.
