MELKSHAM Without Parish Council has given its full backing to Chippenham firm Herman Miller’s bid to build its new headquarters in Bowerhill.
The council has recommended the proposals, which would also see a new football pavilion built for AFC Melksham, are passed whe n they come before Wiltshire Council.
The parish council also assessed the plans for the sports facility, which will include four team changing rooms and one for match officials, disabled toilets, a kit store room and a club meeting room.
The plans have already been approved by the Football Assocation and meet all of Sport England’s specifications.
After both schemes won backing at last Monday’s meeting, council chairman Mike Mills said: “I’m pleased to see a unanimous vote to welcome the development and we look forward to it being built as soon as possible.”
If they are approved work will begin immediately on the new pavilion, to allow the extension to Portal Road which will then lead to Herman Miller’s new premises.
