A man who died in a collision on the A36 near Warminster yesterday evening has been named as 50-year-old Michael Rustell.
The incident happened at about 4.51pm at Norridge Woods on the A36 between the Cley Hill and Granada Services roundabouts when a white VW Golf driven by a 22-year-old from Melksham, towards the Granada Services, was in collision with a green Rover 400 driven by Mr Rustell.
Mr Rustell, from Rode, near Trowbridge, suffered multiple injuries and although the Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed.
The road traffic incident was also attended by two fire crews from Warminster, and the road, closed for seven hours while police carried out investigations into the crash, was re-opened this morning.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact PC David Williams from the serious collision investigation team on the police non-emergency number 101.
