People in Melksham have been warned to keep a close eye on belongings, after a recent spate of thefts.
A phone was stolen from a customer at The Bear in Bath Road, a purse with £25 was taken from a handbag at The Tavern, a purse with £160 and a phone were taken in the Tourist Information Centre.
Sergeant James Williams said: “People have been leaving bags and mobile phones on tables and opportunists drinking there have been taking them.”
