Leila Giddings, 19, has been selected out of 4,000 applicants as a finalist in a national competition searching for new modelling talent.

Miss Giddings, of Bishop Close, Pewsham, Chippenham, is one of just 160 finalists in the country. She is asking for the public to vote for her in the natural beauty category of Top Model UK.

The 5ft 6ins hazel-eyed brunette used to go to Hardenhuish School in Chippenham and later trained in performing arts, since going on to take part in photo shoots.

She said winning the competition would be “the best thing that could ever happen”.

“I’ve always wanted to do modelling,” she said.

“It’s the one thing I’ve always felt good at. I look back at photos of myself since I was tiny and it makes sense, whenever there was a camera I was always posing.”

She said she goes to the gym four or five times a week but doesn’t deny herself treats.

“I don’t fuss about everything, I will enjoy a big juicy burger,” she said.

Miss Giddings looks up to fashion model Helen Cara Delevingne and her ambition is to work for Vogue.

Whoever receives the most public votes online will receive Top Model prizes including training from previous winners, professional photographic shoots and international travel.

It costs £1 to vote and the money goes to the charity Children With Cancer UK. Top Model says last year’s competition raised £10,000 for charity.

The grand finale runway show will be held in London over the weekend of April 4.
