Bradford on Avon Museum plea for First World War material
Updated 10:50am Friday 16th May 2014 in Latest News
Bradford on Avon Museum is appealing for First World War material to contribute to its month-long exhibition in August to mark the centenary.
The museum hopes to build on the material it already has and is asking for photos, diary extracts, medals, and any information on its twin towns’ experiences in the war.
It also wants to record people’s memories so they can be played as a soundtrack during the exhibition.
Kate Turnbull, museum trustee, said: “It can be any artefact and doesn’t have to relate to soldiers in the war. The scenes we want to look at are the Eve of the War, The Front, The Home Front and Twin Towns.
“It is a subject that resonates with everyone. I hope the exhibition attracts residents and visitors and some may even recognise people in the photos, which can contribute to the exhibition even further.”
Material can be dropped off at the museum in the run-up to the exhibition, which will run from August 4-24.
