TROWBRIDGE'S civic service and celebration took place on Sunday evening, along with a procession through the town centre.
Not long after 5pm, dignitaries from the town marched from the Civic Centre, led by pipe Mike Stuart, and into St James' Church for the annual service.
Trowbridge Town Crier Trevor Heeks, who has been recovering from a hip operation over the last six weeks, made an appearance at the service as well, along with MP Andrew Murrison, Wiltshire Police and Crime Commissioner Angus Macpherson and Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire Sarah Rose Troughton among others.
Mayor Deborah Halik said: "It was a fantastic occasion. The service was charming as ever and the procession, which included the air and army cadets, through the town centre was marvellous. Rev Rob Thomas gave a wonderful address where the congregation held up placards and shouted out values we should try to adhere to."
Mr Heeks added: "It was really good to be involved again. I have been the town crier for 30 years and been to every one of these and I was not going to miss this one. It was a lovely evening that went really well."
The Mayor's charity of choice is Wiltshire MIND and donations from the day totalled £570.10.
