A KEEN runner from Trowbridge will take on her fifth Bath Half in celebration of being five years cancer-free.

Jade Francis, Spring Meadows, was diagnosed with grade two sarcoma at the age of 23. She underwent two operations to remove the tumour in her left arm, followed by eight weeks of radiotherapy in Bristol - she was given the all clear in June 2013.

The now 28-year-old is now preparing for her fifth Bath Half in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust on March 4.

“I am so happy to be clear for 5 years and to be able to get on with my life. I had my 5 year check up on Tuesday and it was all clear so still going strong,” said Ms Francis, who has raised more than £5,000 for the charity.

“I don’t do it because I enjoy it, I do it to raise money and awareness for TCT and to remind myself that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. We are more resilient than we realise and it’s nice to remind yourself of that.”
