A MAN was taken the Royal United Hospital in Bath following a two-car smash on the A363 Bradford on Avon to Bath road at Bathford.
The serious accident near The Crown public house at Sally in the Wood closed the road to traffic in both directions for two hours on Wednesday afternoon.
Avon and Somerset Police said the crash happened at 3.30pm and involved two vehicles. One man was trapped in his vehicle. The fire and rescue service attended to free him.
The man was taken to hospital with injuries which were not life-threatening or life-changing.
The police advised drivers to avoid the area following the crash between Pump Lane at Bathford and the B3105 at Bradford on Avon.
Following the accident, the road was blocked until 5.30pm and traffic was queuing in both directions.
