A helpline for people with mental health problems, their carers and their families was launched in Barnet this week, to offer care and emotional support.
Saneline has been established by national charity Sane, Barnet Primary Care Trust and Barnet Council to give information on self-help groups, support services, the symptoms of mental illnesses, medication and its side effects, therapies and mental health law. All calls are dealt with confidentially.
Mayor of Barnet Melvin Cohen launched the line on Monday (June 2). He said: "This partnership with Saneline will ensure that our residents are able to obtain a wealth of information and have access to out-of-hours emotional and crisis support."
The helpline is open from noon until 2am every day and is staffed by trained volunteers.
