A FATHER-of-two from Westbury has been remanded in custody after a jury found him guilty of raping a woman in her own bed.

Daniel Morgan, 27, of Bitham Mill, admitted sexual assault and trespass with intent to commit sexual offence but denied the more serious chare of rape.

However following a four day trial at Swindon Crown Court a jury found Morgan guilty.

Morgan will now face sentence on Friday September 5.

He is at risk of receiving a life term or imprisonment for public protection if the judge deems he presents a significant risk of serious harm to the public.

The jury were not told that Morgan had a previous conviction for possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He was sentenced to two years, which was reduced to 18 months on appeal, after he put the gun to the head of a 13-year-old girl.

She had been walking in a local park in Lancashire when Morgan forced her into bushes and got her to crouch down before she heard a 'clicking sound'. The gun was not fired.

Morgan had also denied that offence and was convicted following a trial.
