WILL Skuse, Will Spencer and Richard Lane have all extended their deals with the Bath Academy, it was confirmed today.

Joining this trio, plus Ollie Devoto and Tom Dunn, for next season will be three new Academy members, all of whom represented Bath United this season.

Versatile hooker and back-row player Tom Woolstencroft joins the club from Bryanston School, and has already represented England U16 and 18s level.

The second-row duo of Charlie Ewels and Tom Ellis also arrive this summer, with both selected for this summer’s England U18’s tour of South Africa.

Ellis, who has just completed his A-levels at Millfield, comes from a rugby-rich background, with both his father and grandfather having represented Plymouth Albion.

Ewels, also from Bryanston School, was one of six players to start all three games in the 2012 FIRA/AER U18 European Championship, where he helped England lift the trophy.

All three were involved in the England U18’s squad who were crowned champions of Europe in March this year.

There will also be three University scholars connected to the Academy next season, who are studying full-time at university as well as training with the Academy - tightheads Adam Jamieson and George Buckney, and fly-half/centre David Buck.

Jamieson and Buckney have already run out for Bath United.

Six players will leave the Academy - Chippenham's Tom Baldwin, Joe Buckle, JJ Kilmartin, Ben Mosses, Will Tanner and James Tyas.

Academy Director, Danny Grewcock, said: “We are really excited about the players we have coming into the Academy this year.

"All three are very promising young lads, and all of us are looking forward to helping them develop both as players and as young men.

"The boys we have staying have all made their mark on the first team this season and taken their opportunity when it came, and we will be looking for them to push on, and the new guys to make a similar impact, this season.”

“We also wish those leaving us all the very best in the future. They are all talented players, and we look forward to seeing where they go from here.”
