A 5-0 win for Christian Malford away at Wren FC not only earned them their first win of the season but it also saw them move out of the third division relegation zone.

David Brown converted Tom Watchman’s cross to give Malford a 1-0 lead and opened the second half strongly when Scott Evans cross was converted by Rob Lowe’s diving header.

In the 66th minute Malford were awarded a penalty when Rob Evans was brought down in the area and Scott Evans made no mistake with the penalty to give Malford a 3-0 lead.

Another Ayhan through ball was met by David Brown, who scored his second of the day with a strong shot to extend Malford’s lead to 5-0 on 80 minutes.

Melksham Cosmos 4 Pig & Whistle United 3

Table-toppers Melksham Cosmos came out on top of their derby day showdown at the Conigre by beating local rivals Pig & Whistle United 4-3.

Alex Shaftoe hit a first half double gave Cosmos a 2-0 lead at the break.

Pig & Whistle had a golden opportunity to reduce the arrears early in the second half but wasted it when the usually reliable Rob O’Harrow missed from the penalty spot this was to prove costly as Jason Hull then put Cosmos three goals to the good.

Almost from kick-off, United gave themselves a glimmer of hope with Graham Griffiths pulling a goal back.

A second from Hull saw Cosmos regain a three-goal cushion which in the end proved invaluable as goals in the final ten minutes from United’s Darren Whiting and Paul Matthews made for a tense finish.

Old Road FC 4 Crossblades FC 3

After going close in recent weeks to picking up their second win of the season, Old Road FC came up trumps with a nail-biting 4-3 triumph at home to Crossblades FC.

Ashley Bartels saw his opener for the Blades cancelled out by Emilio Mudrak and after getting themselves on level terms Old Road took the lead through player-manager Andy Rose.

Crossblades responded well in the second half and saw parity restored through a first goal for the club from Ricky Stonham and when Roger Wiltshire waded in with his first effort for the Blades to put them 3-2 in front, the points looked to heading the way of Tim Chilton’s side.

But it was then the turn of Old Road to turn the game on its head, with Jay Wilkins netting to make it three apiece

And Scott Austin popped up with a last minute winner for the Old Road.

North Wiltshire replied late on, with James Bamford scoring twice.

Trowbridge Town Supporters Club 3 North Star B 3

Trowbridge Town Supporters Club came back from 2-0 and 3-1 down to claim a 3-3 draw at home to North Star B.

Jack Taylor continued his excellent form in front of goal with the Star’s opener and he collected his tenhth of the campaign when he doubled his team’s advantage.

James Crawford kept the supporters’ club in the game when he halved the gap just before half time.

After the break, it looked to be game over for the hosts when Harry Ozut added a third for North Star, but that wasn't to be the case as the Supporters’ Club clawed their way back into the game.

Ashley Randell narrowed the gap to the odd goal before Dean Coles fashioned an equaliser to earn Kevin Williams' side a point.
