MELKSHAM Town are through to the second round of the Wiltshire Senior Cup after they battled to a 1-0 triumph at local rivals Westbury United last weekend.

Will Stead grabbed the only goal of the game in the second half as Darren Perrin's men booked their place in the next round.

Meanwhile, Bradford Town are also through after they put Wiltshire League outfit Supermarine Sports Club to the sword.

Star striker Sam Jordan hit a hat-trick and Nick Ridout grabbed a brace whilst Matt Minnis and Steve Hulbert also get themselves on the scoresheet.

Supermarine also put one into their own net as Bradford triumphed 8-1.

But there was disappointment for Warminster Town as they were knocked out of the competition by Wiltshire League opposition.

Warminster, who parted company with manager John Phillips last week, were beaten 2-1 at home by Swindon-based Southbrook, with Steve Seals' goal proving to be little more than a consolation.

In the Toolstation League First Division, Corsham Town were unable to build on their victories at Cribbs and Cheddar as they lost 2-0 at Ashton & Backwell United.
