A 1-0 win for Division Four outfit Cavalier over White Horse (Sunday) B may not be the most eye catching result of the day, but for the players of Cavalier it not only gave them their first win of the season, it brought an end to their 26-match winless run that stretched back to March 2012.

On 55 minutes Devlin Keane headed Cavalier ahead and keeper Lee Morgan then saved a Steve Oakley penalty following a foul on Chris Webber.

Corsham Centre Youth 4 Miller Sports B 1

CORSHAM Centre Youth maintained the perfect start to the season a 4-1 win for Pete Ralph’s side over Miller Sports B at Meriton Avenue extend their winning run to six matches.

Adie Webb scored the Centre’s opener on 10 minutes, Ben Thomson doubled the advantage in the 20th minute and 10 minutes later he slotted home from the penalty spot to make it 3-0.

After the break Nathan Drew pulled a goal back for Miller Sports on 70 minutes only for Darrin Moss to find the target as he finished things off for the Centre to hand them their 4-1 success.

The Mallard FC 3 Melksham Forest Community Centre 4

A WEEK after they suffered a 4-0 defeat away at Melksham Forest Community Centre, it was the turn of The Mallard to host the Melksham side in the reverse game at Buckley Barracks.

Like the previous weekend the outcome was the same with Forest winning but by a much closer margin as they lost by the odd goal in seven as the visitors claimed a 4-3 win.

Daryl Ward (Melksham) and Connor Dodds for the Mallard traded goals in an exciting first half but it was the second period that produced all the entertainment as Jake Goldsworthy and substitute Connor Church added to Melksham’s tally before Church force a Mallard defender to turn the ball into his own net for their fourth of the morning.

Mark Frost and another own goal helped keep Mallard in the game and they really should have earned a point for their efforts but saw their chances disappear when Adam Foskett had a penalty saved by keeper Lewis Sturgess.
