FOLLOWING last Sunday’s defeat to Staverton, Danny Powell’s Bromham (Sunday) would have been surprised to find themselves still as Division One leaders.

The villagers are likely to see their reign at the top of the standings come to an end this weekend.

Powell will take his team to Corsham CC Wildcats, who beat them 10-0 when the sides met in October.

Revenge will be on the visitors' mind but, having lost two on the spin, Bromham are tipped to lose again.

After a stuttering start to proceedings, Staverton look to be getting back to somewhere near their best and if they could beat Kings Arms (All Cannings) for a second time and other results go their way, Aaron Latchem’s side could find themselves top of the table.

Staverton will be without top scorer Jason Povey for the game but they should still have enough firepower to complete a league double over their hosts.

One of the matches of the day has to be the one between Goatacre CC FC and second-placed Somerford FC, who will be hoping to extend their winning run to six matches with another victory over Sam Parish side who they beat 3-1 on the opening day of the season.

Spike Chandler’s Somerford side have been impressive of late and it will take a special performance from the cricketers’ to deny their fellow villagers their sixth straight win.

With just a point from their last two games, Prestige Bodyworks need to beat North Star A this weekend if they are to get their promotion challenge back on track.

The formbook suggests a win for Zac Klukowski’s side but their opponents, who lost the reverse fixture 3-1, will have other ideas.
