THERE was no pre-Christmas joy for the Division One basement side Chippenham West End, who were after holding North Star A to a goalless first 45 minutes, collapsed in the second half as Liam Westland’s side ran in seven unanswered goals to claim a 7-0 success that leaves them in the drop zone.

Olly Bates put North Star in front early in the second half with his first goal of the season and after that it was a uphill task for West End as their heads dropped but it took a second from Bates for the rot to completely set in.

After taking a 2-0 lead the goals started to flow for North Star, Matt Lang made it 3-0, Mark Dolman added their fourth and fifth before a second from Lang took it to 6-0. The goal of the game was left to the last and it was Andy Dolman who bagged it when he fired home an unbelievable overhead to make up the winners seven goals.
