WITH NO football being played in Division Two for over a month, Matt Rusling’s Southwick Wanderers side could find themselves reclaiming the number one spot in the standings this weekend should they beat Potterne CFC.
Miller Sports A, who are without a game, currently head the table with a one-point advantage.
AFC Avellinos, who were on the brink of calling it a day a month ago, have decided to give things another go and with local rivals Fortune Inn FC next up, this game will see just how serious the players are in helping manager Pete Rees in completing their season’s commitments.
Avellinos suffered a 6-1 loss in the reverse meeting and a similar result could be on the cards at Stanley Park.
Having missed out on a game last weekend, both FC Buscots and Talbot FC should be keen for a return to action - more so for the former, who have not kicked a ball in the league since they crushed Southwick 9-3 at the end of November.
Talbot have faired a little better, with two games since the start of December that resulted in a win and a draw.
Should Priestley Grove get the green light then the points should go back to Devizes with Mark Camacho’s Buscots side, as they chase win number five of the season.
