WARMINSTER slipped to a disappointing defeat at the south cast strugglers in what was their third consecutive away game.

Warminster welcomed back centre Rob Bell to the side but his two try display was not quite enough as the amber and blues turned in a lacklustre display.

The home side started the brighter of the two teams and soon took the lead with a try under the posts, catching Warminster cold.

They increased the advantage even further when Warminster infringements gave them two easy shots at the posts.

Trailing 13-0, Warminster slowly worked their way back in to the game and replied with a try from Bell.

Quick hands out wide found the rampaging centre with work still to do, but he found his way to the corner to dot down.

Warminster ate into the lead further with an unaccustomed drop goal from fly-half Gavin Pratt, who found himself with no other option on his outside.

Swanage were reduced to 14 men permanently close to the half time whistle when one of their back rows threw a punch at flanker Dean Marshall.

Both sides went another man down when Alex Jenkins was sin-binned for a tip tackle as well as a Swanage player for retaliation.

In the second half, a Jason Sprangle penalty for Warminster was cancelled out by a Swanage effort but the visitors took the lead for the first time with a piece of individual skill from Bell.

Taking a quick tap penalty he chipped over the top of the defence and regathered, offloading to the supporting James Rowbotham who was felled just short.

From the breakdown Bell picked up and crashed over, Sprangle converting.

That was good as it got for though as Swanage added a converted score to grab victory.
