WE’RE keen to continue our unbeaten start to the season this weekend but I’ve been away this week and all of the reports I’ve had from Corsham are that the covers have been out and the weather forecast doesn’t look good.
Hopefully it does improve but unfortunately, we may end up sitting things out this weekend.
We’ve still got to prepare and if the game goes ahead, it will be a tough match.
Cornwall lost to Devon last weekend, but that’s a local derby and I believe that they’re always close-run affairs. When we played Devon ourselves, they were all saying ‘you have to beat Cornwall’.
We have got a few injury niggles at the moment. Ashur Morrison has a shoulder problem and we need him to bowl, so we’ll see how he does on Saturday. It’s the same for Henry Langford, who has a knee problem.
Ed Young has also come in to strengthen the squad, but he’s due to play for Potterne in the National Village Cup on Sunday.
The outfield is quite sodden at Potterne though, so that match will probably not go ahead. We’ve selected him, but if it is on, he’ll play for them.
