BECKHAMPTON trainer Roger Charlton has ruled out sending Thistle Bird on a tempting trip to America and will keep her at home for Glorious Goodwood.

Charlton will give Thistle Bird the chance of a second Group One success in the Markel Insurance Nassau Stakes on August 2 after deciding against taking her across the Atlantic for the Beverly D at Arlington next month, won in 2013 by the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Dank.

Charlton wants to wait and take the Pretty Polly winner to the USA for the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf at Santa Anita in early November.

"There was a bit of a debate on where to go next. She could have gone to the Beverly D," Charlton told At The Races.

"It's a Group One race and is actually worth more than the Nassau, but we decided if we were going to travel we'd travel once and go for the Breeders' Cup fillies' and mares' race at the end of the year rather than in the middle of the year, so she goes for the Nassau Stakes again.

"Then there's a race in Deauville three weeks later, the Prix Jean Romanent, which is a Group One race for older fillies over the same distance, so if we're lucky we might have two races rather than one race.

"She's run at Goodwood four times, she ran there as a three-year-old. Epsom and Goodwood seem to suit her and I think it's fair to say she's won a Group One and it would be extremely nice to win anther one.

"The rest is a bonus, so should she run well and finish second or third or whatever that's fine. You can't pretend she's way ahead of the field.

"The Nassau Stakes has got a lot of high-class entries, it won't be easy."
