FROME Town chief Adrian Foster has set his sights on a win at Slough Town this weekend to make sure of their safety.

With two games to go, Town are three points clear of the drop zone and just need to match Arlesey Town’s results to survive.

Town had a big chance to put the relegation battle to bed on Tuesday night away at local rivals Paulton Rovers but were beaten by Scott Wilson’s last-gasp strike, after Robins defender Jack Vallis had earlier been sent off.

Foster was proud of his team’s effort but says it is now vital they keep their fate in their own hands.

“It was a really bad goal to concede. It was just a flick-on and we tried to play the offside instead of staying with the runner,” said Foster.

“He just went clean through and scored and after that, there was no time for us to come back.

“I just hadn’t seen them scoring before that, even though we were down to 10 men.

“We worked really hard and it was a fabulous performance with 10 men. We just couldn’t keep the clean sheet we needed.

“It’s a big disappointment because we only need one win. We told the lads keep it tight, make sure we don’t get beaten, but it didn’t quite happen for us.

“We now need to go to Slough and get three points. We can’t rely on anybody else helping us out.

“We can’t just accept that Arlesey will go down to (third-placed) Truro and get beaten. We need to look after ourselves and go to Slough and get the job done.”
