MARCIN Jaskolski clinched his seventh men’s singles title in eight years at the Wiltshire Closed Table Tennis Championships at Dauntsey’s School near Devizes on Sunday.

Hilperton’s Jaskolski wrapped up his third title in a row, proving too consistent for finalist Kevin Edwards, from Poulshot, who consoled himself by winning the veterans men’s singles.

Jaskolski also linked up with clubmate Andrew Hodges to win the senior men’s doubles against Poulshot’s Lee Phillips and Edwards in a tight final that went to five sets. It was their sixth senior doubles victory in the last seven years.

In the ladies event, Julie Dean won her sixth title, defeating Warminster’s Hazel Brown in three sets, while Chalke Valley’s Tom Barrett his progression by winning the U18 boys singles and doubles events.

Dean also teamed up with Nationwide’s (Swindon) Peter Epps to lift the mixed doubles crown, while there was a victory for Sanford Link’s Sharanya Adesh in the U15 girls singles.

More than 60 players from across the county took part in the event.

Open doubles: Andrew Hodges/Jaskoiski (Hilperton, West Wilts) beat Kevin Edwards/Lee Phillips (Poulshot & Westbury, West Wilts) 11-8, 8-11, 11-3, 9-11, 12-10.

Mixed doubles: Peter Ebbs/Julie Dean (Nationwide, Swindon & Poulshot, West Wilts) beat Trevor Lloyd/Hazel Brown (Trowbridge & Warminster, West Wilts) 11-8, 11-7, 10-12, 7-11, 11-8.

Veteran singles: Kevin Edwards beat Terry Parkin (Chippenham, West Wilts) 11-8, 11-5, 11-7.

Veteran doubles: Trevor Lloyd/Terry Parkin beat Glen Freeman/Peter Ebbs (Sanford Link & Nationwide, Swindon) 13-11, 11-6, 11-9.

Masters singles: Terry Parkin beat Alan Duke (Northside, Swindon) 11-6, 11-4 ,10-12, 11-7.

Consolation singles: Jason Papierz (Warminster, West Wilts) beat Chris Pickard (Bradford, West Wilts) 12-10, 13-11, 8-11, 11-7.

U18 boys singles: Tom Barrett (Chalke Valley, Salisbury) beat Shrey Bhardwaj (Ferndale, Swindon) 7-11, 11-9, 11-4, 11-8.

U18 girls singles: Andrea Chan beat Constance Hung (Dauntsey’s School) U18 boys doubles: Shrey Bhardwaj & Tom Barrett beat Scott Marshall/ Jack Karpinski (Sanford Link, Swindon) 11-5, 11-7, 11-7.

U15 boys singles: Adam Bullock (Warminster, West Wilts) beat Felix Nagel (Dauntsey’s School) 12-10, 11-8, 9-11, 11-2.

U15 girls singles: Sharanya Adesh beat Ellie Galloway (West Wilts Table Tennis League) 4-11, 11-9, 11-5, 5-11, 11-9.

U13 boys singles: Samson Cartlidge (Kennet Vale, Devizes) beat Sam Pinches (Sanford Link, Swindon) 11-7, 11-9, 11-9.
