TROWBRIDGE-BASED The Dursley Arms, who have had an excellent two seasons, in which they won both the third division and Division Two titles, as well as adding the Wiltshire Sunday Cup and Knockout Cup, have decided to call it a day.
With Joe Kirkpatrick concentrating on his role as Westbury United’s player-manager and many players joining him at the Meadow Lane side, a 10-3 victory at FC Pig & Whistle brought their short time in the league to an end.
Dursley, who started the game with nine players, were 2-0 up before Gary Jenkins halved the deficit for Pig & Whistle.
Dursley stretched their lead to 4-1 before Craig Berry scored a second for Andy Allen’s side.
A second-half penalty from Andy Sayers gave Pig & Whistle their third of the game, but it was just a consolation as Leon Greenland’s hat-trick saw him finish with 64 goals overall, 45 coming in the league.
Jamie Jordan also scored a three-timer, Jordan Pinder netted twice and a goal each from Jake Samuel and Darren Amador made up Dursley’s tally.
