WITH six new teams joining Division Three, five of them were in league action on the opening day, one of those being Bromham who joined from the Mid Wilts Youth League.
The youngsters were impressive as they chalked up a 5-1 victory at home to the experienced players of Buttercross.
Charlie Street saw his opener for Bromham cancelled out by Kieran Tarrant only for Dan Mercer to regain the villagers the lead.
Second-half goals from Ryan Bole, Caleb Engerfield and a second from Street saw Bromham take the spoils.
After a goalless first half it was new boys Biddestone who broke the deadlock at home to The Mallard.
Shaun Paradise saw his goal negated as Andy Adams netted to earn Mallard a 1-1 draw and a share of the points.
Two of the league’s newcomers met at Sutton Benger where Kingfisher hosted White Hart and claimed a 9-3 win.
Luke Carr’s double and an Andy Rose effort put Kingfisher 3-1 up before Fry bagged his second for White Hart.
Two penalties for Gavin Freegard made it 5-2 and although Matt Smart scored a third for White Hart it wasn’t enough as Carr added two more to claim a four-timer, Kieran Blake and Andy Rose made up the nine.
