Trowbridge golfer Steve Surry endured a torrid second round at the Open as he missed the cut on his debut at the event.
The 27-year-old Cumberwell Park professional went round in 81 on a blustery day at the par 70 Tunberry course yesterday.
It was a far cry from his superb opening round of 69 on Thursday, leaving him with a combined score of 150.
Surry was in good company in missing the cut, as a number of established players failed to make it to day three including US legend Tiger Woods, who ended on five-over-par.
Surry could at least take some consolation in the fact that he beat Nick Faldo by one shot, Greg Norman by two and Ian Poulter by four shots.
