HILPERTON twins Robert and John Howorth claimed and first and second place respectively in the second Gloucestershire Cross-Country League race of the season.
The nine-year-olds, competing for Team Bath Athletics Club in the U11s age group, triumphed at the Crypt School, in Gloucester last Saturday, mirroring exactly their placings in the first race of the season last month.
In the same race, younger brother Rory – aged only seven and running for Team Bath Tribe, the clubs starter group, – managed seventh place in the field of 30, representing some of the top running clubs in the South West. The sports-mad siblings, who go to St John’s Catholic School in Trowbridge, also play rugby for Trowbridge RFC and swim for Melksham Swordfish swimming club.
l The Wiltshire Championships will take place on Sunday at Corsham Park. The event features a series of races, from the U11 age boys and girls group up to junior, senior and veterans men’s and women’s events.
Entry forms are at wiltshire-athletics.org.uk.
