JASON Guy believes that the enforced break took its toll on depleted Warminster.

Tom Welsh, Ashley Wain, Simon Reaney and top scorer Louis Sparey were all missing.

“We lacked a lot of sharpness and fitness,” said the Warminster manager. “We started brilliantly and could have scored three or four in the first half.

“We missed some opportunities and in the second half we just seemed to lose our shape.”

The hosts took the lead in bizzare fashion just before half time when Steve Smith’s corner evaded everyone and found it’s way straight into the net.

Stockbridge substitute Mike Barker sealed the win with a late strike.

Guy is confident his side can bounce back when they host Ringwood Wotn on Saturday.

“Any game is going to be tough at the moment but I’m sure we can get a good result on the weekend,” he said.

James Vincent is a doubt for that game after picking up a groin injury but Sparey could return after his suspension.

Defender Reaney has two games left to serve.
