TENNIS: FROME have consolidated their position at the top of Men's Division One of Chippenham and District Tennis League and are well on the way to retaining their title.

Division Two is headed by Iconoclasts, from Bath, the only men's team with a 100 per cent record, but hot on their heels are Bath Civil Service, closely followed by both Trowbridge and Bath Spa.

Newcomers Ringwood Ramblers, from Warminster, have picked up their first win and are close to lifting themselves from the foot of the newly formed Division Seven. Cooper-Avon B look hot favourites to pick up the inaugural trophy.

In the ladies' championship Bradford are the only team with a 100 per cent record and although presently third look well on the way to retaining their trophy. Present leaders Devizes and second place Freshford may have something to say about that.

In the mixed championship it looks like a two-horse race between Devizes and Bradford. Last season's champions Chippenham have dropped off the pace although their B team are presently lying a close second in division two and fighting hard for promotion to the top flight.
