WE MANAGED to get ourselves into a position where Berkshire had an incentive to go for it in their second innings earlier this week and we were doing well so it was a shame that the rain prevented a result.

We fell away towards the end of our first innings but we managed to bowl Berkshire out for 190 and then declare after a big score of 325.

But we could only really get in a few small sessions on the last day before the rain meant it had to be a draw.

Our captain (Joe Breet) got 106 in our first innings and was disappointed to go out of our second on 85, as two centuries would have been a great achievement.

Ed Kilbee and Henry Langford got good scores and Tahi Afridi hit a quickfire 44 not out, smashing four sixes off Shaun Udal.

We were just a bit naive when we were trying to bowl them out and I think that maybe we need to try and be a bit more inventive than just persevering with the seamers.

On Sunday we’ve got our trophy semi-final up in Staffordshire.

We’re going with the same side that won against Devon and Lincolnshire, which means that Ashur Morisson comes back in and Paul Robbins drops out.

The only concern for us is that there’s a reserve day on Monday if the game doesn’t happen on Sunday.

There’s a doubt over Jayden Levitt being able to play on Monday so Toby Davies will travel up with us to take his place if we need him to.

I’ve had a few messages passed on to me from people about their team so we have a few clues as to what Staffordshire’s side is like but we only really need to think about ourselves.
