BRADFORD on Avon’s Sam Jordan hopes to keep his Sunday League hot streak going as he chases his eighth consecutive hat-trick in this weekend.

The 22-year-old Bradford Renegades striker has struck at least three times in every match he’s played so far this season and has 32 goals in all competitions after scoring seven times in his side’s 12-2 WG Parr Trophy win over FC Brunel last Sunday.

Jordan, who also plays for Toolstation League Bradford Town on Saturdays, said: “It’s been great and I obviously can’t take all of the credit for it – I have to give some to my team too.

“I’ve started having a few texts from mates saying ‘are we going to see another Sammy J hat-trick this Sunday?’ and a few have been coming out to watch me so there’s a bit of pressure but as soon as we started playing last Sunday, I blocked all of that out.

“A few people have asked me if I think I’ll get 50 or 60 this year and I want to try and keep the hat-trick run going but I work as a data comms installer and I may have to work abroad soon.

“I want to stay at home as much as I can to keep my scoring run going.

“I live for Sunday football. You get to play with your mates and have fun while you’re doing it and it’s even better when you’re winning.”

In recent years, AFC Bell’s Craig Townsend and North Star B’s Mark Dolman netted six and seven consecutive league hat-tricks respectively while in the 1998-1999 season, Anthony Dowell also reached seven in a row.
