COMPETITORS found fish hard to tempt in the Wilts Angling Open match fished at Barley Wood on Sunday, writes COLIN SCULL.
Ian Willetts was the exception, taking top spot with a carp catch weighing 52lb 4oz.
That was more than double the weight of his nearest rival, Mark Leader, from Westbury, took runner up spot with 24lb 4oz of carp and skimmers.
Pete Neate again framed in third with 22lb 13oz of carp.
Other placings: 4 Gary Etheridge, Devizes 19lb 11oz; 5 Steve Saunders, Melksham 19lb; 6 Nick Johns, Trowbridge 18lb.
- CHIPPENHAM AC have again entered the Supercup competition and in the second round have been drawn against Haines Angling of Frome, Swindon Isis and Elgin AC.
Haines Angling will provide the venue and the match will be fished over the weekend of June 8-9.
The winners will move into the regional semi final to be fished in late July or early August.
