THE West Tackle match fished at Viaduct Fishery last Sunday went to Steve Ince, from Trowbridge, with 260 lb 11 oz of carp. Paul Westlake, of West Tackle, was runner up spot with 149 lb 1 oz of carp.
Mark Poppleton, from Trowbridge, clinched third with 122 lb 8 oz of carp, followed by Nick Ince, of West Tackle, with 98 lb 12 oz of carp. l SUNDAY'S Wilts Angling Open match on the Foxhanger stretch of the Kennet & Avon Canal was won by Mick Gunning, from Trowbridge, with 28 lb 12 oz of carp and bream.
Jeff Matthews, from Trowbridge, was runner up with 23 lb 8 oz of carp and bream.
Pete Neate, from Holt, clinched third prize with 21 lb 8 oz of bream and tench.
Other placings: 4. Jim Butcher Bradford 7 lb 0 oz; 5. Tony Scott Staverton 6 lb 6 oz; 6. Kriss Dearing Westbury 5 lb 1 oz.
THE Lavington match at Baldham Mill on Sunday went to Andy Jones, from Devizes, with 4 lb 8 oz 8 dm of roach and gudgeon.
Don Keates, from Hilperton, pushed him all the way with 4 lb 8 oz 8 dm of roach, dace and gudgeon with Chris Brown, from Worton, third with 1 lb 14 oz 8 dm of roach, dace and gudgeon catch.
Other placings: 4. Kevin Morris Devizes 1 lb 13 oz; 5. Mark Easey West Lavington 1 lb 10 oz; 6. Jim Escott Melksham 1 lb 9 oz.
THE Tuesday Open match at Ivy House Fishery produced fairly even weights.
Top honours went to Mark Ogbourne, of New Century, with 54 lb of carp and silvers from Dave Halliday, of Swindon, with 50 lb 8 oz of carp and silvers.
Paul Ogbourne, of New Century, clinched third prize with a carp and silvers catch weighing 43 lb 4 oz.
THE Saturday Open match at Ivy House Fishery was won by Paul Connor, of Ivy House, with 44lb 8 oz of carp and silvers.
Alan Smith, of Ivy House took runner up spot with 39 lb 2 oz of carp and silvers, followed by Chris Cotterell, of Ivy House, with 35 lb 13 oz of carp and silvers.
The silvers prize went to Joe Thompson, of Ivy House, with a weight of 15 lb 9 oz.
COMPETITORS enjoyed reasonable sport in the Upper Thames Winter League match fished on the Thames from Lechlade to Radcot.
Garbolino BVMG took team honours with 46 points followed by Daiwa Gordon League with 37 and Browning Andover MG with 36.
Individual honours went to John Bohane, of Swindon Talisman, with 18 lb of roach, followed by Andy Pollard, of Daiwa Gordon League, with 14 lb 12 oz.
Dave George, of Browning Andover, took third with a mixed catch weighing 13 lb 3 oz.
Other placings: 4. Andy Powell Maver Lobbys 13 lb 0 oz; 5. Keith Bennett Garbolino BVMG 12 lb 0 oz.
