A 6-3 LOSS at Buttercross FC means newcomers Westbury Conservative Club are still looking for a first-ever league win since their switch from the Frome Sunday League.

Goals from Jamie Lardner, Scott Nash and Ben Butterfield gave Buttercross a 3-0 half-time lead. Frankie McEntegart pulled a goal back for Westbury only for Simon McCarthy to regain the Butter Boys three-goal cushion.

A second for Nash and Lardner made up the winners’ half dozen, Tom Bruning and Ryan Boon also nettinng for the Conservative Club.

FC Bradford had to dig deep to take maximum points against Cannings Rangers, eventually winning 3-2.

Jimmy Meade’s goal for Bradford separated the sides at half time.

James Franklin fired Cannings level before Mark Robinson regained the lead for Bradford and Dan Jordan added a third. Carl Jacobi scored a second for Cannings.

Lacock FC made an immediate return to winning ways, seeing off a determined Evana Designs 3-0.

Goals from Jordan O’Dywer, Corey Williams and Ryan Ross seaed maximum points.

Stonewood Sundays hit the goal trail against newcomers London Road who, after their 14-0 loss, have now conceded 61 goals in just four games.

Joe Bergson, Jack Gruar, Luke Harfield, Dwaine Perry scored singles, but Andy Flynn topped the scorers with three, Ashley Barnett, Mark Coles and Mike Hopkins scoring two each and Gareth Cooper’s own goal.

Corsham Park had a 5-2 success at Trowbridge Wanderers, for whom Carl Mackness and Dan Mercer scored. Darren Applegate and doubles from Kadir Ayhan and Andy Woods handed Park victory.
