WORTON & Cheverell suffered their first league defeat of the season to bring their 10-match unbeaten run to an end away.

A 3-0 loss at Corsham Centre Youth saw the long time Division Two leaders slip to second spot behind Bremhill View.

Two very depleted sides couldn’t be separate at half time and the game remained goalless until the 65th minute when Darrin Moss scored from the penalty spot for the Centre’s opener.

Moss added a second before Stephen Dwyer scored his first Centre goal to complete the win.

A 7-0 victory for Bremhill View at home to Miller Sports B, coupled with a first defeat of the season for previous leaders Worton & Cheverell, saw Joe Barker’s side move to the summit for the first time since the middle of September.

Ben Redford and Mark Dolman both struck hat-tricks to outdo top scorer Kieron Gleed, who had a quiet game, only scoring once in the win.

After back-to-back defeats against Corsham Centre Youth, FC North Wiltshire made a welcome return to winning ways with a 4-1 triumph over Oakhill FC.

Scott Austin, James Bamford and Max Hardman shared the first half goals for North Wilts, A second for Austin made certain North Wilts fourth win of the season was never in doubt even after Robbie Burton pulled a goal back for Oakhill.

Melksham Forest Community Centre picked up a valuable three points in their battle to stay in the division. A 2-1 win at Stanley Park took them out of the drop zone at the expense of their opponents Old Road who, after five straight defeats, find themselves in the bottom two.

Brentley Roberts and Matt Carroll with a free kick won it for Forest after Dean Archer’s goal looked as if the points would be shared.

An 11-3 defeat for basement side White Horse (Sunday) B at Rowdy Cow Rowde means that the Westbury-based side are now six points adrift of safety, while the win for Rowde sees them remain in the top three.

Dan Taccuso, Rory Collins, Harry Merritt and Bradley Whitbread, who all scored two each, an own goal from Damian Griggs and singles for Ashley Armstrong and Josh Scott made up Rowde’s 11.

Adam Griggs, George Ingram and Ismal Negraj with his with his first-ever goal for White Horse replied for the losers.

Adam Haigh stepped in to save day when the original match day referee failed to turn up for The Mallard’s home match with Bath Road.

Haigh, secretary of The Mallard, wouldn’t want to do the job again but he was just happy to get the game played which his side lost 3-0.

Two from Tim Knight and a first of the season for Nick Manifold secured the win.
