A THIRD win from their last six matches has lifted FC Pig & Whistle out of the Division One relegation zone.

Their latest success, which saw them beat Sutton Benger 4-1, boosted their hopes of beating the drop even further as Benger were one of the teams, along with the Pig, battling to stay in the division.

James Weston’s goal for Benger was just as consolation as Ollie Woodland with two, and singles for Rob O’Harrow and Ashley Fletcher kept the Pig’s good run going.

Pheasant recorded a double over Christian Malford with a 3-1 home win at Stanley Park.

Dave Brown’s goal for Malford gave them a half-time lead before Mike Jenkins restored parity on the hour mark. Jenkins added his second to put Pheasant in front and former Malford player Shahram Hemmatti wrapped up the victory.

Potterne CFC picked up another important three points with a 7-1 demolition of a North Star FC, who were seen as a banana skin to the villagers' title hope, but in the end were no match for their hosts whose latest win was their tenth of the season.

Neil Clark netted a four timer and James Bayes netted two, all coming after Ben House had put Potterne in front. Star’s consolation was a Darren Brown own goal.

Miller Sports A picked up another three points in their promotion bid courtesy of a 4-2 victory at Talbot FC.

Richard Moules, two goals from Mike Stevens and a second-half Joe Murray penalty won it for the Miller Boys. Aaron Clegg and Dean Fry replied for the Talbot.

Sportzcoach Dragonz United dug deep as they saw off a spirited Trowbridge Town Supporters Club comeback who, after trailing 3-1 at half time, almost turned things around but came up just short as they suffered a 4-3 defeat.

Dave Strickland gave the supporters’ club the lead inside the opening 20 seconds. Dan Moore got Sportzcoach on level terms and a Dan Kirk double put them 3-1 up.

Town replied with a second from Strickland, Sean Meer added number four for Dragonz before Jordan Pinder scored for the Town who couldn’t find a fourth.
